FOR WINTER/SKIING

The local mountainous walks are enjoyable in all seasons with the right footwear, that is! There are stunning views all over Verchaix and the two nearby villages.

It generally snows heavily during the season, on the chalet level.

The SKIBUS comes from the bottom of the road near the roundabout of Verchaix, or you can drive/walk to the nearest resort access point in Morillon.

The skiing is amazing for any level of skier, as there’s great access to nursery slopes from both Morillon and Samöens.

For those who are more advanced, there’s easy access to get higher up the mountain nearer to Flaine and Les Carroz, which can also be accessed by drive if you want to vary your starting point throughout your stay.

There’s often ice-skating in Samöens village, on New Years’ and Christmas Eve there are often firework displays and family entertainment.

The bars are very ‘French-local’ and often are heated in the winter, the village is generally lively during the ski and summer seasons.
